Viveick Rajagopalan Part 2 : A Journey of Konnakol, Breaking Stereotypes and Surrendering to Music

Viveick Rajagopalan is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer who specializes in Konnakol, the ancient art of vocal percussion from South India. A mridangam player, he is known for his fusion of classical, folk, jazz, and electronic music genres. He has collaborated with many artists from different backgrounds and cultures, such as Taufiq Qureshi, Karsh Kale, Shankar Mahadevan, Anoushka Shankar and the hip hop community.

A vocal advocate for breaking stereotypes and prejudices in the music industry and society, he believes that music is a universal language that transcends boundaries and connects people. We discuss topics such as Indian percussion, music business, being intentional in pursuing any goal, being practical as a creative person, role of algorithms and AI, and the true job of a musician.
