Changing Music LandscapeFor thirty years, music journalism has been an area of expertise for Narendra Kusnur. Among other magazines and websites, Kusnur's pieces have featured in Mid-Day, The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Free Press Journal, The Times of India, DNA, Rolling Stone India, Seniors Today, and Music Plus. Adil Persian is one half of the music composer duo Adil-Prashant. They are known for their work in the television and film industry. Adil Persian and M. Prashant have collaborated with many famous singers and directors, such as Shubha Mudgal, Shreya Ghoshal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam and others. Viveick Rajagopalan is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer who specializes in Konnakol, the ancient art of vocal percussion from South India. A mridangam player, he is known for his fusion of classical, folk, jazz, and electronic music genres. He has collaborated with many artists from different backgrounds and cultures, such as Taufiq Qureshi, Karsh Kale, Shankar Mahadevan, Anoushka Shankar and the hip hop community.
A vocal advocate for breaking stereotypes and prejudices in the music industry and society, he believes that music is a universal language that transcends boundaries and connects people. We discuss topics such as Indian percussion, music business, being intentional in pursuing any goal, being practical as a creative person, role of algorithms and AI, and the true job of a musician.
